Audience Feedback

Throughout the production process we got verbal feed back from various different people including our target audience we then made appropriate changes. For example people felt that the colour burns in our music video were really good but they thought it would look better if we decreased the opacity of them so that they were more subtle. We made these changes and faded the opacity of each of the colour burns.

We showed our music video and ancillary task to a larger group of people and handed out questionnaires so we could get written feedback from our audience. The results are shown below in pie charts.

Everyone thought that our music video fitted into the genre of indie pop which was really positive feedback as it was clear that the music video followed the conventions of our research therefore the music video would appeal to our target audience.

This question was asked on both the existing indie pop artists music videos and the music video we created. We noticed that the audience picked out similar thing from all of the videos, this meant that we had successfully included the most important features of indie pop music videos within our video.

Everyone thought that the video complimented the song, this meant that we had successfully interpreted the meaning behind the song and portrayed it well in the video.

This question was very important to us because we needed to know what people thought we should improve about our coursework so we could make appropriate changes. The majority of people felt that no changes were necessary, we looked over the lip singing to make sure it was in sync with the music and we came to the conclusion that it was. We also added some more effects to the video for example at the end of the music video we faded it to black followed by a short colour burn so that it finished with an effect shown throughout the music video. Originally we were following Ellie Gouldings style for her magazine poster but after the feedback from the audience we could see the advantages of having a CD cover on the magazine poster such as making it clear to the target audience that it is an advert for Holly Lovells new album. We decided to use the layout that Marina and the Diamond used by showing a 'Wonderlust' single cover, which is featured on Holly Lovells album.
